Floating Opera Press is a Berlin-based occasional imprint started by Aaron Bogart, publishing contemporary criticism and artists’ books. We are committed to pushing the boundaries of what such books might be, and are driven to create a site of inspired exchange between artists, writers, designers, and printers. In this way, Floating Opera Press extends the possibilities of printed matter.
Critics Essay Series
In 2020, Floating Opera Press will begin publishing a series of book-length essays by younger critics who propose new and interesting ways to subvert or replace our current way of discussing contemporary culture, be it art, architecture, or theater. Setting up new languages and schemas, they offer readers alternatives to traditional, binary criticism and narratives. There is also a focus on critics of color and other minority voices.
